MULTOS is a high-security multi-application smart-card operating system designed for strict separation between applications and certified to Common Criteria EAL5+ and above. Its application loading is controlled by a central certification authority, giving issuers tight governance over what code may run on a card after issuance. It has been widely used in banking and national identity programmes where assurance requirements are especially high.
