The GSMA iSIM specification defines integrated SIM functionality embedded directly within a device's main system-on-chip, rather than on a separate eUICC chip. By moving the SIM into the SoC's secure enclave it removes discrete hardware, saving board space and power in compact and IoT devices. iSIM reuses the remote-provisioning machinery of eSIM, so operator profiles are still downloaded and managed over the air.
