Cryptographic Token Interface Standard (Cryptoki) providing API for smart card cryptographic operations.

PKCS#11, also known as Cryptoki, defines a platform-independent API for performing cryptographic operations on hardware tokens such as smart cards and HSMs. Applications call a standard set of functions to find keys, sign, decrypt, and manage objects without knowing the device's internal details. Because it is vendor-neutral, it is the interface most enterprise software uses to integrate smart-card-based authentication and signing.
