ISO/IEC 14443 is the proximity contactless smart-card standard operating at 13.56 MHz over a range of a few centimetres, defining the Type A and Type B air interfaces. It governs the modulation, anti-collision, and transmission protocols used by payment cards, transit tickets, and electronic passports.
